Ever since I can remember money has been an issue for our family. No matter how many jobs my dad had there never was enough money to make ends meet. My dad would never let us know how bad things got. Christmas and birthdays came ans we would have gifts. We never realized how much my dad and my mom were giving up to make that happen for us. My Dad has always been the ultimate provider and family man. My mother has chrohns disease and many other health problems , my brother has bad asthma my dad has always tried to provide for their medications and dr visits. He has never put his needs in front of one of our needs or wants. His shoes have holes in the bottom and he has 2 or 3 pairs of pants that actually fit and dont have tears in them. He really needs a coat for winterb/c he freezes while hes on blood thinner b/c of blood clots .He would buy something someone else needs before he would buy what he needs. He is the BEST choice for Parent of theYear! I LOVE MY DAD!He is loving kind&caring!

My dad is a wonderful 89 year old WWII veteran that despite his age and being wonded during the war has always been a good father, worked hard all his life to provide for us and is a true American. He still talkes to me every day to see how I am doing and what is new in my life. I laugh because he still calls me his little girl and I am now 63. I have wonderful child hood memories of all the things we did together. Each weekend we would all go to the drive end movies and he made home made icecream for us to enjoy at the movie; we even rusted out the floor board of the car from the icecream salt. He always hade time for me andd still does.

She has a 40 year old son that is severly handicapped and she doesn't have much of a life because she has to stay home and take care of him all day. He has to be fed, medicated, diapered, and total 24 hours day care is needed and she never complains. She is a very good wife and mother. She also took care of her parents for 10 years after her mother had a bad stroke and her father had alzehimers. She is so dedicated to loving and caring for everyone she doesn't give herself much time to do the things she would like to do. She is a great mom and grandmother. She is a great parent that has gone above the call of duty for over 40 years.

My Mom should be considered to be Parent of the Year because she is probably the most unselfish and kindest woman that I have ever known.  She was always the last one to sit down at a meal or the last one to buy something for herself even if it meant doing without.  She was MY ROCK when I lost my daughter at a young age from pneumonia. Even though she is now elderly she still can't go into a store without asking you if there is something you need.  I would love nothing more than to win this just so I could buy her anything she wants from Haband. Thank you for your consideration.

My mother was the greatest mother I could have hoped for, we were poor and I have seen her cook and then say she was not hungry when I would ask her why she was not eating  I was a little boy , after I got older I realized bless her heart the reason she did not eat was to make sure her kids had enough to eat, she would go and dig coalm out of the hillside to start a fire to make sure her kids stayed warm, My mother meant so much to me, at 14 I begged her to sign papers 4 me 2 go 2 work in the mines,I was tired of beig made fun of because of my clothes so she finally signed them.
